Aarhus Public Libraries is a dynamic and development-oriented organization with a long tradition of project and development management, competence development and networking with other libraries, organisations and institutions, both nationally and internationally.
Aarhus Public Libraries have throughout the last years been manager of several projects funded by the Danish National Library Authority, the European Union and private companies.
As a consequence of the experiences with development projects, Aarhus Public Libraries drew up an innovation strategy in 2007. Furthermore, a project model has been organised, including a toolbox and templates for all documents needed throughout a project.
Aarhus Public Libraries was awarded the 2004 Access to Learning Award from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for its extensive training and technology programmes.
